Source 'Sorting Essential' Crate Includes:  NEED 1 CRATE OF STUFF FOR EACH SOURCE
Name Tags for each Member's Bag

Ashley looking into tags from Costco & index cards
Name tags that will be created and always kept at the drop site.  Each member who placed an order will have a nametag and it will be put on each person's bin.  During the sorting, all items for that person will be placed in that bin.  This will allow for easy identificaion of bins.  Name tags are to be laminated, or some sort of plastic cover to stand up to wear and tear.  Name tag must be clipped on to bin in some way, whether it be a clothespin, velcro, etc...
Masking tape 3

 (Julie, Ashley & Krista providing 1st 3)
When sorting it is nice to label in bags with either name, contents or weight. The easiest thing is to write on the marking tape and then put the tape on the bag.

Also, it is used for taping the order summary to the outside of the envelope

Large Canvas Bag or Equivalent
A LOT
2

Each Member

Julie C. - 2

Each member is responsible for bringing a large canvas bag that will stay at the drop location for sorting purposes.  This will be the main bag that all food items from all sources are sorted into.  IKEA size bags are what we have in mind for this size.
Plastic Bags
A LOT

Each Member
Plastic grocery bags will be used to put indiviual food items into (for instance, Tuscarora produce).  Need TONS of these for our drops.  It will be everyone's responsibility to bring unused plastic bags to the drop site periodically for use during sorting.
Reusable Shopping Bags

1
Each Member
Each member is requested to donate reusable grocery bags (Giant, Common Market, etc...) so that they can be used to individually sort out the different source's items.  For instance, one member has a bin, and in the bin there are several bags with the different source order's that that member placed.  These reusable shopping bags may be used to help the member transport the items to their car, but must stay at the drop site for future use.

Since we are trying to get away from plastics, they are nice for sorting spices. e.g. peanut butter jars, mason jars of all sizes for spices, beans, grains, etc...

Large bowls

Julie H.
Many of our scales are inaccurate at weighing small amounts (e.g. 8 oz).  So we put the bowl on the scale, and then weigh an additial 8 ounces.  Frontier spices can be frustrating.  You put the bag on the scale and it weighs less than 1 lb so you think they have shorted you.  You then put a 1 lb bowl on the scale and put the bag of spices in and sure enough, it is a little over 2 lbs.

Organizer to hold check reimbursements
1
1
Julie Clark
Need some sort of organizer to hold all the vendor envelopes and the checks as each members reimburses the Product Coordinator or Source for their food.  Either wall hung cork board, with each source envelope on it for people to slip their checks into.  Or, a tiered organizer with different sections for each source.  **We are going to try Julie's bulletin board, will reasses after first use.
Source Reimbursement Envelopes

need is filled

Julie Clark
Need 1 LARGE envelop per source to hold the checks for reimbursing the product coordinator for the order.  On the outside of each envelope, will identify 'Check Payable To:'. - For sources where the checks must be mailed to someone, we write the address on the envelope.  It just makes the final processing go faster.
Shelving Unit

Need to have a shelving unit to organize and store food club items/boxes when we are not there.  Allows for everything to be 'tucked away' until our next drop.  As well as, easy identification of items needed for the sort.  Sorting crates and materials will be placed in the same place every time for easy access.
Calculator

For souces that will likly have extras, it is nice to have for figuring out pricing.
File crate/box

Julie Clark
We store extra catalogs in the box, that way we just go to the box to get information for new members.  We also have some WAPF brochures in our box for anyone who is interested.  **We decided against using the file box for the reimbursement envelopes so the box is available for this function.
