1/12 - Policy for when members want to place an order off cycle.

We had a member who needed her Frontier order before the end of the month. We told her she would need a $250 min order to place it. However, our source coordinator ended up placing it because she didn't feel comfortable giving out her Frontier password. I don't think we should ask our source coordinators to do anything extra, next time this happens we will ask them to get their own $10 ID, place the order themselves, and then they can return the ID and get a refund from Frontier.

Sources

NCFC is continually expanding our sources and encourages every member to help identify new sources. Each source is researched to ensure that they and their products are in line with NCFC’s goals and that there will be a demand for the product(s). We have not included CSA boxes since we like to buy in bulk when possible for affordability and they are readily available outside the foodclub.

All sources are listed on the main page for your drop site location. By clicking on a source, you will go to the specific page for that source. Here we give details about the products, source, pricing, ordering, and payment. Click here for more information about our sources.

^^ Add something to the effect that...  All of our sources are wanting to best meet the needs of their customers.  If you have an idea for a product that you would like a source to carry, please suggest it to the product coordinator or directly to the source.

^^ Maybe the heading should be Products and sources?  Sally

General

Just bought a bike and had to sign a checklist saying that I accept various risks......    The format they used was

1. bla bla bla.  Please initial ___________.

2. blaa blaaa.  Please initial ______________.

By initialing each item on the above checklist, I have indicated my complete understanding of these points, and I acknowlege my responsibilities regarding the contents.  I also agree to explain the points on this checklist to anyone besides myself who will be using the bicycle now or in the future.

Consider modifing the goals and policies to this format.

Regarding a member that doesn't pickup their items the day of the drop.  Member should send their $$ ASAP...

• Timeframe when repayment is to be made. Within 48 hours of drop.
• No future orders will be placed for the individual until reimbursement is collected for the products (that they forgot to pickup).

Membership

When we have a member that wants to drop out, which is totally fine, I think they have a couple of options available to them...Will you verify?

Options…

  • You can stay as an active member for a couple of more months, and continue to receive the emails/updates, etc…still have access to ordering, so if you decide that a month or 2 from now, if you want to order something, you can! But, you don’t have to order…there’s no obligation, and I’ll know that you will not be volunteering for any jobs unless you start to become more active. OR,
  • You can become an inactive member, which will still keep you in our system, just indicate that you are ‘inactive’, therefore you won’t receive any emails from Mailman (I think??). You won’t be able to order, but your id will still work on the system. So, you can browse, etc..., If you are inactive, whenever you’d like to come back, we can just activate your account, and you’re good to go, since we have your membership contract, OR
  • You can be removed from the system. We’ll throw away your contract, and if you decide to come back, you’ll just submit a new membership contract, and go through the initial process.

Something to the effect of...

Be considerate of members with chemical sensitivies and allergies - e.g. no heavy fragerance, and if you smoke, please refrain from smoking before the meeting.

Also, read Elizabeth's forum policies (I link there on the forums now, and see if anything else goes in our policies.

I agree that Foodclub meeting should provide a safe-space for all of us --- including those with health issues.

I wonder if we could send a general notice stating that several of our members have health issues such as asthma, chemical sensitivities, etc that are severely aggravated by cigarette smoke, strong perfume, exceiive pet dander, etc and asking all members to not smoke before coming and to refrain from using any strongly perfumed soaps, deodorants, etc for an hour before coming to meeting.
