Drop Site Guidelines
Please call Julie 301-305-8181 if there are any specific questions or concerns about the drops which are not addressed below, or need clarification.
Product Coordinators
- Keep Julie informed of when products will be delivered to her house.
- Email Julie any updated shipping information to let her know when products will be arriving at her house. If you have any shipping information (expected shipping date), please forward her that as well, so she can be looking for the shipment.
- Please have all sources drop off the packages in the garage or in the basement. Please call Julie if you need to access the basement before drop day.
Vendors
- Any vendor dropping off the day of the drop, please place items in the garage. If perishable, you may use the fridge or freezer. There are also coolers available to store perishable items. Please note there is one cooler designated for vegetables and fruit only.
Sorters
- The basement is where our supplies are stored. Paper, pens, bags, boxes, etc. You will find sorting supplies in a crate, under the stairs and under the large tables against the wall. Please clean up the space after you are done sorting. Place all trash and recycling in the bins outside (by the garage).
- The basement will be unlocked on sort day. The computer and printer will be available for use for our food club. You may sort in the basement, in the garage or in the driveway in front of the garage. When deciding to sort outside, be aware of how dark it will be at closing. Members need light to see their names, and closers need light for closing activities.
- Sorters are welcome to use the kitchen and bathroom upstairs while working.
Members Picking Food Up During Drop
- Please park in the street.
- At times the drop will be in the basement, please refrain from going upstairs.
- Our food coop is designed for you to bring your children if you choose to work and pick up your items. We try to make the space safe for all children. The backyard is fenced, the equipment is to share, and the toys in the basement are for use as well. We welcome kids at our coop!
- Please remember you are responsible for the care of your children and if they get hurt or have an accident, you are welcome to use the bathroom or the phone. Julie and Joe are not responsible for accidents caused so please keep an eye on your kids!
Drop Site Opener/Closer
- The dropsite opener and closer may park in the driveway, but please park to the side to allow easy access for Julie and her husband.
- When closing, please stack the coolers in the garage, put all supplies back in the basement, and put garbage in the trash and recycling bins. Make sure basement and garage area are tidy.
- Make a note of any food left behind. Put food in fridge, freezer or on the shelving unit outside the basement door. Money for late pickup will be placed on this shelving unit, although most payments are mailed to the product coordinator.
- Close garage door, turn off basement lights.
